YA Friends-to-Lovers Book Recommendations To Give You All the Feels

Surprise! I’m back at it again with some book trope recommendations, and this time around it’s all about Friends-to-Lovers.

I’ve always been a huge fan of this trope, but at the same time I tend to be incredibly picky with these stories. When it comes to creating a realistic friends-to-lovers romance there’s a delicate balance to it, so today I want to share the books I’ve found that walk the line of this trope.

These titles combine the perfect amount of chemistry, questioning (Should I tell them? What if it ruins everything?) , and storytelling. So, here are the five amazing friends-to-lovers books that I’d recommend piling onto your TBR:

36578543Fireborne by Rosaria Munda // goodreads

This book is masterful. It’s a YA fantasy debut novel with dragons, political intrigue, morally grey characters, and some of the best development I’ve ever read. It also features an adorable friends-to-lovers romance between the two protagonists that is complicated and heartwarming.

Need more reasons to read it? Try: well developed side characters, dragon riding competition, a ballroom dance, and lots of dragons.

23437156Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo // goodreads

As popular as this book is, I couldn’t help but throw it into this list. Six of Crows is a heist novel following six main characters such as a convict, runaway, heartrender, and spy. The plot and story are fantastic AND it features several friends-to-lovers romances (which may arguably be considered “we’re participating in the same heist-to-lovers romance”).

Need more reasons to read it? Try: waffles, grisha, laugh-out-loud humor and complicated relationships.

13206900. sy475 Winter by Marissa Meyer // goodreads

This epic conclusion to the Lunar Chronicles series has one of the best friends-to-lovers romances of all time. Winter and Jacin work perfectly together and, like the rest of the romances in this series, are ridiculously adorable. This entire series it fantastic and if you’re looking for your next addicting read it’d recommend picking this series up!

Need more reasons to read it? Try: character squad, disney princess retelling, and laugh-out-loud banter.

35750271The Disappearance of Sloane Sullivan by Gia Cribbs // goodreads

Do yourself a massive favor and pick up this book. It’s a wonderfully written story about a teenager living in the witness protection program…and oh my gosh. It’s spooky, funny, and will twist your brain in every direction. On top of that the romance between the protagonist and her childhood best friend is fire. This book is a must read!

Need more reasons to read it? Try: found family, a unique pov, and endless plot twists.

35068742Love, Life, and the List by Kasie West // goodreads

Then to round off this list I’m sharing a title by one of my auto-buy authors! This book was very fluffy, cute, and I adored the take on the characters learning to understand what love is. This book is perfect for a quick summer read and will leave you smiling!

Need more reasons to read it? Try: a summer to-do list, painting, complicated family lives, inside jokes, and amazing character development.

And now that you’ve read through some of my recommendations I’d love for you to leave some for me to check out below! I’m always looking for more to read and I’d be happy to receive some recommendations.

YA Enemies-to-Lovers Book Recommendations That Will Steal Your Heart

Enemies-to-lovers romance. Enough said, right?

There’s nothing that hits quite as hard as the chemistry and tension in these books. Will the characters fight, throwing around banter and witty lines, or will they finally kiss? Your guess would be as good as mine…

Which is one of the many reasons I adore this trope, and I know I’m not alone here! So, if you’re looking for some good enemies-to-lovers stories to pick up, here are five that I’d recommend piling onto your TBR:

40087230 If I’m Being Honest by Emily Wibberley & Austin Siegemund-Broka // goodreads

I am so in love with this novel. It captures the enemies-to-lovers trope perfectly with dashes of witty banter and a heap of self-discovery and character growth. The writing is fantastic and the dynamic between Cameron & Brendan will thoroughly steal your heart.

Need more reasons to read it? Try: messy home lives, complicated feelings, gaming, and the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

40848323Fake It Till you Break It by Jenn P. Nguyen // goodreads

Not only does this book have a swoony enemies-to-lovers romance, but it pairs it with the idea of childhood “best friends” which makes it all the sweeter. The entire story is incredibly fluffy, fun, and could easily be consumed in one sitting!

Need more reasons to read it? Try: confusing feelings, dual POV, mom best friends, late night adventures, and kisses that are questionably real.

45045129Tweet Cute by Emma Lord // goodreads

I have not stopped thinking about this book since I first read it. The enemies-to-lovers relationship between Pepper and Jack is magnetic and the chemistry is unreal. The entire story is atmospheric and it may be one of the best developed YA contemporary stories I’ve ever read.

Need more reasons to read it? Try: hidden identity romance, monster cake, New York City, baking blogs, swim team, and twin brothers.

34499221. sy475 To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo // goodreads

A siren and a siren hunter, does it get any more enemies-to-lovers than that? I read this book last summer while on vacation and couldn’t get enough of it. I consumed the entire thing while sitting on the beach and even just talking about that experience makes me want to pick it up all over again!

Need more reasons to read it? Try: grey morals, heart stealing, pirates, and dark little mermaid retellings.

52766407. sx318 sy475 Today Tonight Tomorrow by Rachel Lynn Solomon // goodreads

Although this book isn’t out yet (it will be July 28th, 2020) I had to include it on this list! I’m an absolute sucker for an academic rival enemies-to-lovers story and this one is a masterpiece. Rowan and Neil’s story is easily one of my favorites of 2020 and I cannot wait for it to be released.

Need more reasons to read it? Try: Jewish rep, 24hr time frame, slow dancing, graduation, and romance novels.

Enemies-to-lovers is one of my favorite YA tropes. It’s one of those things that will sell me on a book instantly. I’ve read a lot of these stories and I hope that my future TBR pile will be stocked full of them.
