Synopsis (NOTE: contains spoilers for the first book): After saving King Aodren with her newfound Channeler powers, Britta only wants to live a peaceful life in her childhood home. Unfortunately, saving the King has created a tether between them she cannot sever, no matter how much she’d like to, and now he’s insisting on making her a noble lady. And there are those who want to use Britta’s power for evil designs. If Britta cannot find a way to harness her new magical ability, her life—as well as her country—may be lost.

The stakes are higher than ever in the sequel to Ever the Hunted, as Britta struggles to protect her kingdom and her heart”

grayline

I guess my journey with this trilogy is having a bitter end. If you saw my previous review for Ever the Hunted (which you can find here) you may already know this… but my start with this series was less than ideal. However, I was being hopeful and decided to give the second book a try!

And that was my mistake. I couldn’t get into the story, I was distracted while reading, and I couldn’t care less about what was going on. I didn’t like the direction that the plot took or the decision for the main two characters to be in different places.

I couldn’t connect and I’m just excited to move on from these books. I’ve decided I’ll be donating or selling them and the only time will tell if I give this author another shot again.
